On the 8th, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, published an annual report on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s progress in joining the European Union, and suggested to the European Council that once Bosnia and Herzegovina meets the necessary accession criteria, it should start accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In his report to Crystal, Satler said, "The efforts made by the political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the European Union have produced positive results and have been recognized. However, the report also lists the shortcomings in Bosnia and Herzegovina. "
Crystal said that the Bosnian government will continue to work hard to promote the process of European integration and realize the 14 reform priorities set by the EU for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On December 15th, 2022, the European Council formally granted Bosnia and Herzegovina the status of candidate member of the European Union.
